Youngjea Joo

Youngjea is the International Student Services Assistant at the Cranwell International Center. He currently oversees the Center's front desk as a primary point of contact between staff and students, alumni, and guests at Virginia Tech. Originally born and raised in South Korea, Youngjea moved to Australia and completed high school and university, earning a Bachelor's in Media and Communication and minor in international business at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. As a former international student, Youngjea understands the challenges of living overseas away from home and family. He aims to ensure that all international students visiting the Cranwell International Center feel at home while they are here. Outside of work, Youngjea spends time with family, traveling, cooking, supporting his favorite baseball team, and writing blog posts about them.
