International Café Hour

International Café Hour at Deet's Place

Looking for a fun way to meet new people, explore different cultures, and enjoy free food? Join us for International Café Hour at Deet's Place from 4–6 p.m. on selected Fridays each month! Each Café Hour spotlights a different country or region represented by Virginia Tech's global community. Come experience unique traditions, enjoy authentic savory and sweet food and drink samples prepared by Virginia Tech Dining Services chefs, and connect with students from around the world in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Hosted by Virginia Tech Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) in partnership with Cranwell International Center and Dining Services, every event offers an opportunity to learn about a culture through conversation, food, music, activities, and community. Whether you're an international student, a domestic student, or simply curious about the world, International Café Hour is a great place to:

• Discover new cultures and traditions
• Meet students from around the globe
• Enjoy authentic international food and drink samples
• Experience cultural activities and entertainment
• Expand your global perspective in a fun, informal setting

Free to attend! Bring a friend, grab a snack, and join us for an afternoon of culture, connection, and conversation. All are welcome!

• Friday, September 18, 2026: Taste of Saudi Arabian Culture, presented by the Saudi Student Club at Virginia Tech
• Friday, October 23, 2026: Taste of Spanish Culture, presented by the Spanish Honor Society - Sigma Delta Pi at Virginia Tech
• Friday, November 6, 2026: Taste of Iranian Culture, presented by the Iranian Society at Virginia Tech

Spring Semester

• Friday, January 29, 2026: Taste of Peruvian culture, presented by Peruanos at Virginia Tech
• Friday, February 19, 2026: Taste of Vietnamese culture, presented by the Vietnamese Community at Virginia Tech
• Friday, March 26, 2026: Taste of Caribbean culture, presented by Caribso at Virginia Tech
