As a new international undergraduate student at Virginia Tech, you are required by federal regulations to complete an Immigration Check-In process at Cranwell International Center as soon as possible after your arrival.
Immigration Check-In is available during normal business hours, weekdays, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, at Cranwell International Center in Harper Hall, beginning Monday, August 14, 2017 at 8:00 AM and ending Monday, August 21, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
After Monday, August 21, 2017, you may drop off the required photocopies and printouts, as outlined below, at the front desk of Cranwell International Center. In some cases (e.g., immigration transfers), you may be required to schedule an appointment to complete the Immigration Check-In process after August 21, 2017.
You must bring with you legible photocopies or printouts of the following documents when you come to complete the Immigration Check-In process:
2. Photocopy of identification page(s) of your passport;
3. Photocopy of the US entry visa (if applicable) in your passport;
4. Photocopy of your signed Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 (if applicable); and
5. Printout of your Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record.
When you complete the Immigration Check-In process, you will be given your New International Undergraduate Student Transition Program Welcome Packet and Orientation Schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: Cranwell International Center will be unable to make photocopies or printouts of your documents, so please be sure to bring appropriate photocopies and/or printouts as nosted above. You can find instructions on where and how to print and/or copy your documents on the Library's Website or in the Printing & Copying Instructions PDF.
