Vivian Yamoah provides a wide range of immigration and support services to undergraduate and graduate international students in the following colleg(s)/department(s) at Virginia Tech:
Vivian Yamoah is the Associate Director for International Student Services. She has been in the field of international education for almost 20 years. Since graduating with her bachelor of arts in Asian studies and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia, she has worked in international higher education with US and international students. She has her master’s degree in cross-cultural communication and international management from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining the Cranwell Center, she was the Associate Director in the International Student and Scholar Office and a First Year Experience Advisor at Towson University.
She is a member of the NAFSA: Association of International Educators Trainer Corps and has presented immigration and student advising workshops at the local, regional, and national level. She is currently a member-at-large for NAFSA's Member Engagement Committee. Her area of expertise includes student and scholar immigration advising, international student academic advising and international student career advising. She is currently working on her PhD in higher education at Morgan State University with a specialization in international education administration.
These days her free time is taken up with research for her doctoral degree. She hopes to return to traveling in the U.S. and across the globe.
