Max Crumley-Effinger is an International Student Advisor. He holds a Master's of Education in International Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor's of Arts in German Language and Literature from Earlham College. Max comes to the Cranwell International Center after three years in Chicago for graduate school, and before that, he spent five years in Indiana as an international student adviser at Earlham College. Max is a former Fulbright grantee and is currently a doctoral candidate at Loyola University Chicago engaging in research on international student immigration policy. Max has also led multiple study abroad programs in Germany and Austria and has been involved in research and professional development activities on a range of international education topics through NAFSA, CIES, and ISA professional and scholarly associations, including presenting papers, leading workshops and sessions, and participating in the NAFSA Academy. In addition to dissertation research and writing, Max's free time is taken up by outdoor adventures, reading, playing video and board games, and riding his motorcycle.
