Mark Dennis provides a wide range of immigration and support services to undergraduate and graduate international students in the following departments within the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech:

Mark joined Virginia Tech in August 2019. As an International Student Advisor and faculty member, he serves as a Designated School Official and an Alternate Responsible Officer, recognized by the Department of State and Homeland Security. In his advisory role, he provides immigration advising for F1 and J1 visa holders and informs university faculty and staff of immigration requirements. Additionally, he conducts workshops to inform eligible students of benefits through the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency.
Mark received his B.A. in Philosophy from Roanoke College and his M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Prior to joining the team at Virginia Tech, he taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and served as Director of International Student Relations at American National University in Salem, VA, where he developed partnerships with ESL institutes and helped international students navigate immigration regulations.
In his free time, Mark enjoys traveling to places he has never been both within the United States and abroad. His travels include must-see destinations from New York City, New York to Havana, Cuba.
